Our Program

About True Path

We believe stable, dignified housing is a foundation — not a luxury. True Path Independent Living was built to make that foundation accessible to everyone, regardless of income.

Our Mission

True Path Independent Living LLC provides affordable shared housing for individuals on fixed incomes — including those receiving SSI, SSDI, Social Security retirement, and VA benefits.

Our shared living model keeps costs low while creating a genuine sense of community. Every resident gets a clean comfy  bed, access to shared common areas, and the support of a team that genuinely cares about their wellbeing.

We review every application personally — because we know that a number on a form doesn't tell the whole story.

The Model

How shared living works

Shared housing is one of the most effective ways to make quality housing affordable — and it's been a cornerstone of independent living for decades.

01

Cozy beds

Each resident has their own cozy bed in a shared or private bedroom — your personal space to make your own.

02

Shared common areas

Kitchen, living room, and bathrooms are shared among housemates. House rules keep things respectful and comfortable for everyone.

03

One monthly payment

Rent covers your room and shared utilities. No surprise bills — just one predictable payment that fits your budget. A one-time program fee is due at admission.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does rent cost?

Rent varies by room type and location. Our pricing is designed to be affordable on SSI/SSDI income. A one-time program fee is due at admission. Visit the Available Rooms page for current pricing on open units.

Are utilities included?

Yes — your monthly rent covers your room and shared utilities including electricity, water, and internet. There are no surprise add-on bills.

Can I use a housing voucher (Section 8 / HCV)?

We accept housing vouchers on a case-by-case basis depending on the property. Please indicate your voucher status on your application and we will confirm eligibility.

How many people share a house?

Typically 5–7 residents share a home, depending on the property. Each resident has their own cozy bed in a shared or private bedroom.

What if I have a prior eviction or criminal record?

We review all applications individually. A prior eviction or criminal history does not automatically disqualify you — we look at the full picture and believe in second chances.

How long does the application process take?

We review every application personally and aim to respond within 3–5 business days. If you have urgent housing needs, please note that in your application.

Ready to take the next step?
